History
The band was born after Jennifer and Nick met at a jam where nobody ever expects to find a bandmember. Nick went on stage and sang, something he'd never done before. Jennifer asked him to join the band and The Compounds were formed.
This was in 2016 and the band started as a coverband, playing liveshows. Soon Nick and Jennifer decided to write original music (Oct 2017) and the band switched guitarist and bassist. Jeffrey and Simon joined through an online ad (Jan 2018) and this was the actual birth of The Compounds and their original work; although two Compounds-songs were written with the 'old' formation (Another Wave and Johnny Lightning), the sound of these songs changed completely after the reformation and soon we started writing new songs.
After being together for 2 months the first gig was played with mostly original work. In September 2018 they participated in their first band contest and won 2nd place. Shortly after the single 'Call Me The Devil' was released they started recording their EP, which was released on May 26 2019.
